SHAMELESS! The Life and Times of Laura Bell Bundy will be
hitting the stage of Joe's Pub this October!
Shameless tells the story of love and devotion, bitterness and
betrayal. From Britney Spears and Natalie Portman understudying her
in Ruthless to performing in two of Broadway's biggest hits, the
show will provide a bit of insight into her blond ambition. Her
performance will include songs from some of her favorite roles in
addition to original work.
Lynn Shaw of Lynn Shaw Productions will produce. Jamie McGonnigal
is set to direct with musical direction by John McMahon.About Laura
Bell Bundy: Most recently has been seen as the Standby for Glinda in
the Broadway Show, Wicked, the Untold Story of the Witches of Oz.
Previously, Laura originated the role of Amber von Tussle in the
Tony Award winning Broadway smash Hairspray. Laura played the role
of Marah Lewis on CBS's The Guiding Light from 1999-2001.
While working on the show she recorded the song "I Believe in The
Mystery" (Tony and Marah's Love Theme), which was nominated for an
Emmy Award. She originated the role of Tina Denmark in the
Off-Broadway musical hit Ruthless! The Musical. Her work in Ruthless
brought her two award nominations, The Outer Critics Circle Award
Nomination for Best Actress in a Musical and The Drama Desk Award
Nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Musical. In 1998 she played
Dainty June in Gypsy, starring Betty Buckley and Deborah Gibson.
In addition, she toured with The Sound of Music opposite Marie
Osmond and starred in Radio City Hall's Christmas Spectacular for
two years. Other credits include the roles of Lola in Damn Yankees,
Sandy in Grease, and Babe Williams in The Pajama Game. Some of her
film credits include the characters of Young Sarah Whittle in
Jumanji, Courtney Aspinall in Life with Mikey, and Susan Wilks in
The Adventures of Huck Finn.
Laura also is a Singer/Songwriter and is currently working on a
music/recording career with her singing partner Amber Rhodes.
